Replacing the LCD Screen Integrex50

Hi everyone,
We need to replace the LCD screen on our Mazak Integrex 50 (with Fusion 640MT Control) and have recieved the new screen from our suppliers... Has anyone got a suitable method for aligning the absolutely piss poor method of connection that Mazak has used for connecting the video link cable to the screen?
In all my life, I have never seen such a poor method for connecting two pieces of equipment. The NEC screen comes with a female socket connection point, Mazak has a male plug, but surpisingly enough the damn plug is a different size!
So some grade one kindergarden kid has come up with a interface board that uses a plug that fits into the NEC female socket that leaves small connectors pointing up that are supposed to be aligned to the solder points on the underneath side of an adaptor board that can move around by anything up to 1mm! With the connection points being closer together than the amount the board can move, you can imagine the problems in trying to get a correct connection to the screen!
So far we have managed to get all sorts of colours dancing across the screen thru to a perfectly clear screen... great except for one very small problem, it was upside down! (maybe the screen was designed for a machine in the Northern hemisphere?) After all, you guys are upside down to us Aussies
Why could Mazak simply not change the male plug to match the screen socket? Oh that's right... too easy!
Sheesh and everyone wonders why I dislike the damn machine!
Any help would be really appreciated.
Regards
Brian.

OK, round 2.
Worked out that the "plug" had a whole heap of dry joints and that is why it had come apart, not supposed to be "aligned" on assembly.
Managed to solder the two parts back together.
But the new screen still showed up inverted. There is only one 4 position rotatary switch on the rear of the panel, I am guessing that maybe this switch might control picture orientation?
The old screen is correct orientation but just showing weird colours, the new screen was also showing the weird colours so now thinking it might be the video card???
Anyone got any more ideas?
Thanks
Brian.

I don't know why you need to replace the LCD but most of the time it is a dull or faded screen. This is caused by the back-light losing its brightness and is easily replaced for around $80.00. Most people replace the entire LCD when all they need is a bulb. The bulb is a pain to replace also but it is much cheaper.

Yes I agree, we have replaced the backlight bulb once already. Like you state, much cheaper option.
The problem we are having is that the screen is not just fading, but all the colours are changing, fading in and out, random noise showing up etc.
I eventually managed to resolder the connection so that worked but the new screen displayed the same result (but inverted).
So I am thinking it is probably the video driver card, not the screen.
What do you think?

If the original problem was not an inverted picture to begin with then it's not the driver card unless during the course of installation of the new screen and/or re-soldering the plug, you inadvertently shorted something.

BUT the original problem was that the screen was displaying all sorts of wired colours and fade outs. Everything returned to exactly the same when I soldered the joint back together again and re-installed the original screen. Along with the fade outs and strange colours. Thus the thinking that the problem is with the video driver card.
When the new screen was inserted, aside from the Inverted output, nothing had changed.
I am assuming that the 4 position switch on the rear of the panel is what controls the Picture orientation.
