I am seeking Mazak Training , real in person training like Mazak offers to their customers. I am a machinist student who is seeking to be educated on other platforms or machines than HAAS, so when I graduate from school I am more valuable to a potential employer. Mazak will not allow me to attend any of their training classes, because I didn't recently purchase one of their machines, does anyone know of any way I could obtain training ( not virtual) on actual mazak machines. please let me know if you are aware of any possbilities... and not ToolingU or Mastertask.com =-) |

| If it is for Mazak's that are fitted with Mitsubishi controllers, which they have been for quite a few years, try Mitsubishi Training at MEAU. Al.

Interesting subject. First point - if you don't used mazatrol right after your training class, you will loose the skills you learn. Therefore, you must have a mazatrol equipped machine available to use some how. Secondly - Mazak's primary training obligations are to customers that just bought new machines. However, if they have an unfilled class, you may be able to 'negotiate' with the instructor to get a seat in the class. Here's a link to their national training schedule. http://domino.mazakcorp.com/Training...sses?OpenAgent Thirdly - there's at least four types of "mazatrol for the PC" programming systems out there. Camware from Mazak, Griffo Bros., Solutionware, and Matrixcam from Mazak. All retail for approximately the cost of one to two semesters at a decent college. I don't think you have much chance of persuading Mazak to let you, a non-paying "academic", attend one of their classes gratis. You could hook up with a local Mazak end user and see if they will 'sponsor' you to take a class - that is, they would pass you off as an employee to get a seat in class allocated to customers. Mazak is not particularly generous or progressive with getting Mazatrol out into trade schools or community colleges. It's a corporate decision that is in very stark contrast to Haas, who seem to try to get their machines in to any school that will have them. Good luck and stay motivated. A thirst for knowledge is a big asset for your employability in the future! -90% jimmy |

There is a career training center where you could get hands-on Mazatrol plus Haas training, where new classes start 7 times per year; and the best part, the school will try to get you covered by federal funding, so you will pay 0 $$ now. They are in Chicago and they are open to general public. BIR Training Center www.birtraining.edu |

| I have attended a Mazak training course in New Port, Kentucky and let me mention that they teach control or machine specific courses. and our adamit about having a machine serial number to base your class off of. I would also tell you most of your class time is going over the books and procedures they give to you. There is very little hands on time as the classes are four eight hour days which half the last day is spent touring the mazak factory where the quickturns are built. I basicly attended an Integrex 300SY course to get procedures for aligning the various components of the machine and to get the password to get into the ladder editing mode. |
