TURRET PROBLEMS

Hi. I have a "Mazak super quick turn 250 ms" yaer 1998. When i rotate the turret manually with the fwd/ccw button the turret works fine and tool positions is correct at display. But if i trying to change tool in mdi mode the turret start rotating with high speed and stops att wrong number. it sounds like it doesent clamp. i need to reset... then it clamp. I get alarm 272 and 221

you need to turret home setting, please see turret home procedure in operation manual book

we are having basically the same issue. jogging the turret results in a high speed spin. we are thinking the encoder is bad.

any other advice?


oh, its alarm 221, too.

Just like Mazman said, you need to rehome the turret. If you cannot find the procedure in your manual it is best to call Mazak for it. It is usually easy enough to follow through with the procedure.

I called mazak and asked how i rehome the turret when i get the alarm with the turret clamp sensor. They told me that i dont need to home rehome the turret??? Can anyone explain to me how to do it.
