I need to do some adjustments on a MR-J2 drive for a rotary table. I found the link to the software here on CNCZone (thank you). I just need the cable that connects the drive to my PC. Does anyone have the specs for this. Mitsubishi wants $86 for what they refer to as an RS-232 cable. I've made several cables and because I am cheap, can't see spending $86 on $4 worth of parts. Thanks for any help. |

| You don't necessarily need to connect to the MR-J2 to make any adjustments. If this is a Mazak, the software is loaded on the control already. Just open the application through windows...

It may be an MPLUS control which doesn't have onboard s/w. |

| Yep... M Plus doesn't have use a Windows OS... ... it also doesn't use a MR-J2.... The cable to connect to a MR-J2 is a DB9 to MDR (20 pin I think)... but AFAIK, MR-J2 didn't start usage until Fusion. So the set up software is loaded on the control....

| Yes the M-Plus controls used an MR-J2 drive. What is the exact model of the MR-J2 drive? Does it have a CT at the the end or an A at the end. This will matter when it comes to the software and cable that is used on the drive. |

| Good to know. I figure there was a transition period in there somewhere depending the models... just hadn't seen it. I have seen Fusion machines that ran the old drives and/or relays. Almost like a Fusion control that got stuffed onto a M Plus machine. Talk about strange to work on.

| The CT drives are made specifically for Mitsubishi CNC controls and the A drives are a general purpose servo for industrial applications. Both are similar but different ![]() These two manuals should explain most of your questions. http://www.meau.com/functions/dms/ge...00000464300000 http://www.meau.com/functions/dms/ge...00000675100000 |
