    Unexpected spindle movement

We have a Mazak Mill Nexus 510C with a 640m control when you take a tool out of the spindle you have to go to mdi and command a M19 the go to manual mode and turn the clamp unclamp key to get the tool out the problem we are haveing is some times when you put the tool back in the spindle and turn the key back the spindle will rotate like it is doing the M19 again at this point you are holding the tool in your hand has anyone seen this before on this machine?

When it rotates... does it simply do the M19 again? or is it spinning now? (like a commanded RPM)
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....

No Way Hosea! Somebodys gonna get hurt!

There is absolutely no way that is acceptable!!!!! I would contact Mazak and tell them what that thing is doing. From a liability standpoint they should be real interested in solving and fixing that problem on a recent machine model even if it is a little out of warranty.
If you don't orient(M19) and use the Tool Unclamp OK soft key does the spindle take off when you reclamp the tool? Maybe a work around until the orient problem is fixed.

I'd check this out to see if it still moves.....

I've seem this once before.... The M code wouldn't actually complete but the control thought it was and would latch the orient signal for the clamp function. When putting the tool back in, it would orient again. As I recall, it was both a timer issue and something was strange in the ladder. Mazak loaded a newer software version and all was good....
