Looking for some pointers on the best way to nest multiple parts on a VQC-20/40B M2 machine. For instance I am quoting a job that would require me to nest somewhere between 10 and 20 pieces in a fixture plate, due to quantity. My question is, how can I do this with only 6 work offsets? I looked thru my manual real quick and found a G10 command that mentions something about this but it(the manual) leaves alot of information out. Would G92's work? Thanks |

| Use a Mazatrol main program and use WPC for offset locations and call the g-code in with no G54 etc and you can run with as many offsets as you want. You could use Multi-Mode Offset type also but ten would be the limit without getting complicated for restarting. (Version E or higher) |

| Thanks MrMazak! Hate to sound like an idiot....but probably too late for that anyway! I have never used Mazatrol. Can you elaborate on how I would setup and use this as you mention? How do I set the WPC and call a G code program from within Mazatrol? Since these parts will all be the same, I could use it like a subprogram, correct? Thanks again, Nate |

| Mazatrol Main w/eia sub call using WPC's rather than G54 etc. In the attached example the Mazatrol WPC acts as the coordinate system unless a G54,55,56 etc callout is in the eia program. The setting of WPC is explained in the manual, push "WPC SEARCH" while in the Mazatrol program and it finds the first WPC callout, cursor over to each axis and push "TEACH" and input "0" or whatever number is needed then "INPUT" and the axis coordinate will be entered in the WPC. The sub is part of the Mazak logo used at IMTS 2006 so you can see if it is in the locations on graphic check. Good Luck! |
