T-4 Parameters reloaded - now not working

Our Dual-Turret Slant-30 with Mazatrol T4 control (YT4B) had memory battery go down, and we lost all parameters.

I used Mazak Service Bulletin 0989-002 "How to re-initialize a T2\3 Control". I had called Mazak to see if they had a service bulletin specifically for the T4 Control, but they did not find any, or at least did not call back. So the T2\3 procedure seemed to work OK.

I hand-loaded all the parameters (I have done this multiple times), verified no mis-typed entries, and then operated the control.

The problem occurs during homing. I home the Z axis, all looks good, then home the X axis. As soon as that home is completed I get "Error 102: stored stroke limit -X1". Same results if I do X axis first then Z - error msg comes up after both axes are homed. The same type error occurs (except now -X2) when homing the lower turret system.

I have cleared all stored programs, and tool data.

It seems like I am violating some software travel limit, but I have gone through what manuals I have, and could not find anything that looked close.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
Steve

Buy me a Beer?

What about the chuck barrier page?
Not sure if the T4 has it.

I am the electronic tech here, not a machine operator, so I have limited operational knowledge of this system, as it was just turned on after several months of non-use.

Anyway, my shop sup turned off both chuck barriers, but we still get the same error about stored stroke limit.

The manuals are difficult to tell what each meaning is but you can try these parameters.

Turret 1 stroke limit
BA1 (P1-X)
BA2 (P1-Z)
BA3 (P2-X)
BA4 (P2-Z)

Turret 2 stroke limit
BB1 (P1-X)
BB2 (P1-Z)
BB3 (P2-X)
BB4 (P2-Z)

Bumper,

I can not find those fields on any of the parameter pages, including the hidden ones. What am I missing?

Looking at my control it looks like the manual and the control are slightly different.

BA1 is actually B1 HD1 (Head 1)
BB1 is actually B1 HD2 (Head 2)

Success

Bumper,

You pointed me in the right direction, and I found my error. I had missed the negative sign for several entries, and after correcting that mistake, the system now homes without the errors.

Thanks
