Mazak v's Fadal

I have the option of buying a
1982 Mazak VQC 20/40A M2 with graphics tool probe and chip conveyor
or a 1997 Fadal VMC 15xt 88HS for the same price,
I don't know either machine brand that well,
I am aware the Fadal is a linear machine, but that is not necessarily all bad I'm told. Your thought will be appreciated.
