Need Help!- mitsubishi converter MDS-C1-CV-260

Hallo everybody,I visited this forum very often,found it very usefull,now I need a help.Problem with a mitsub. converter MDS-C1-CV-260.During a big storm we lost a power.Then had a problem-converter is dead.No signal on processor board,no power on the front PC board with processor.Another two amplifiers are running but Mazak shows alarms 204 then 26 probably becouse of dead converter.Mitsubishi asked 3,5k for repaired one.Any suggestion what to do? I,m familiar with electronic stuff but where should I look for a broken element? Thanks.

Did you ask Mits how much to repair versus getting a repaired one. If you get the repaired one, do they offer a discount on the defective?

Try disconnecting the fan an see if it works too. Inside and outside if there is two.

As You see my location is Poland and everything here works a little diffrent.There are two fans the upper one is dead lower is working.I've found a company in Luisville,KY and I'll send it to them to repair.Thanks,

You said the upper fan was not working. Did you disconnect it to see if the CV unit comes up with out it?

I'm curious, what's the name of the company in Louville, KY that will repair it. I may want to use them myself. Is it ASI, but there in Richmond, KY

Hallo chippy1,today first thing in the morning I'll try to do what You suggest and I'll let know what happening.The company in KY is http://www.ics-repair.com/index.htm their thirst offer was to high but then gave 1k for repair and it gona take about three days,they also got some on stock.Best regards thanks for help.

Sorry this didn't work-the upper fan was broken,I replaced it but nothing changed except the other one is not working too,but is good 100%.It's very difficult to find connections on the pc board as it's multi layer one.

I think you had mentioned there were no LED's on the CV unit. Try disconnecting the buss cable also just to make sure there are no outside shorts bringing down the low voltage power supply within the unit.

I already tried,nothing changed.I disconected everything except three cables from transformer.The red LED is on,I have 280V DC on bus and no power on processor board,meens no low voltage both fans are dead right now.I changed several elements that I think give voltage for a little transformer but must be something else.Regards , grabolo.

Sounds like you have tried everything. Time to send it for repair.
