    mazak lathe

    Just bought two mazak lathes ,slant turn 30 t/c and slant turn 30 m/c ,the tc has a t2 controller and the m/c haslive milling and a t3 controller, t3 newer control or live milling control ?I . I don't have any mazak experience so any help or advice would be helpful. Also don,t have any manuals . Read that mazak has manual on cd for a price hope thats true for late 80's machines if not any other sources? fired up the t/c today has # 9 alarm x axis somthing ,don,t remember ,got my ass kick all day by a tool changer problem on an amura sieke vertical but yes that a whole nother post thanks

    Did you buy these machines out of California?? When you get time send me the for real alarm and I will try and help you. If it's the machine I am thinking of it's probably the parameters.

    Really the best thing you can do is get an experienced operator to guide you through everything. Put out a craigslist ad! We did this on a t32 control and it would have taken us years to figure out what he taught us in 3 days. Mazak school is also available in Ohio for $500 a class
    We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts :) If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

    Yes they did come out of california, found a loose plug on the x and that cleared the one alarm just have alarm 131 illegal parameters ,which I would assume ther're missing.

    On the older machines, usually the parameters are located in a small clear folder with blue back in the electrical cabinet. There should be a small packet on the door that hopefully someone has not removed.

    No kind of paper work with either machine, if I had that kind of luck I'd have a whole bunch of extra time on my hands.
