Mazak T32-3 Alarm 015 System Malfunction

Hi guys,
I've got a Mazak SQT15MS T32-3. When I turned it on today the keys at the operation panel were not working and a few minutes later Alarm 15 "System Malfunction" came up on screen. I restarted several times but the same result. I looked in the electrical cabinet and when it's started initially all the drives LED's appear correct (i.e.: X/B Drive :Flashes between d1 & d4 . Z Drive:d2. Sub Spindle Drive: r0 . Main spindle Drive r0.) but after a few minutes the main spindle drive LEDs go blank, showing nothing (that's when the Alarm comes up on screen).
In the Alarm manual it says the following :
Alarm 015 System Malfunction.

Cause: An error occurred in data transmission between MCP and the Amp when the power is turned on.

Action: Check Amplifier for :
Improper connections.
Improper power connections.

So what I'm wondering is what is the MCP and what Amp are they on about ?
Any advice please ? Is this a sign of some problem anyone is familiar with ? What's my best course of action ?

I've run into a similar problem. If you don't mind me asking, what did it take to get your machine back up and running?

Thank you,

Gary

Need Help! Mazak T32-3 Alarm 015 System Malfunction

Hi,

Is the spindle drive FR-SF? If so, check the Yellow LED on the SF-PW (power supply) on top side of the Spindle Drive.
If it is off, there are several reasons,
1) Any of feedback cables grounded.
2) Faulty SF-PW.
3) Faulty SF-CA card.

Regards,

Girish

The drive is a FR-SF and a yellow and green led are lit at the top of the drive. The drive gives an AL 36 alarm with is listed as a Transfer Error.

Thank you for your help,

Gary

Thumbs up Need Help! Mazak T32-3 Alarm 015 System Malfunction

Hi,

Problem could be the CAM11 cable or the MCP/CPU (MC1xxx) card on CNC from which this cable comes out.

If CAM11 cable is ok, need to check
1) Memory clear & reload from backup
2) Replace MCP/CPU card & check.

May be MELDAS service engineer required for this.

Regards,

Girish

I really do appreciate you taking time to respond and the information you provided. We will check these items out and will probably have to call Mitsubishi.

Thank you,

Gary

If the LED's go out after a few minutes with the machine just sitting idle, it sounds like it's just a weak SF-PW.
