Can anyone provide me with a quick rundown on the proper procedures for adjusting backlash on this machine(parameters, etc)? Currently I do not trust this machine to hold tolerances of .005". Luckily most jobs I have right now are wide open, but anything closer means a lot of fiddling with the program. (i.e. 10" length of cut, have to program 9.98" or maybe 10.02")
In the future I would like to get a newer more accurate mill, but job load and budget don't allow it right now.
Right now, If I cut a circle, in aluminum, of aprox 2", part will be out of round by .005 or larger. Am I asking too much for a machine of this age (1983)? Ideally I would like to get the machine to the point where I could hold .001, even .002.

Thanks
