I would like to know how to change the baudrate on a meldas 300 controller. Ive tried looking in the manual and could not find anything. Could some provide a step by step procedure for pulling up the settings screen or whatever screen where the baudrate is adjusted??
My reason for changing the rate is because we just recently got the machine setup doing dripfeed from a pc. Sometimes the program transfer gets a little jerky and its hard on the machine, if I turn down the feedrate on the controller it smoothes out nicely, so it seems to me that the controller is accepting the data slower than the PC can provide it. If anyone has any other thoughts on this please share.
Thanks in advance.
Josh,
Got to TOOL/PARAM, then press the MENU softkey twice and then I/O PARAM. Press the NEXT key to get to page 2.
The baud rate is set by the DEVICE number in < > and the parameter #(2) and the setting in DATA( ). Settings available are:
0:19200
1:9600
2:4800
3:1200
I have not been successful in using the 19200 rate during DNC. The best I've had is 9600 and sometimes the machine is faster than the data coming in so I just slow the feedrate to get smooth motion.
Files transfers to memory will work at 19200 but it seems too much when the machine is trying to move at the same time.
