I have been running an SQT250MS with a Fusion 640 control for a few years now and am pretty familiar with programming the live tooling with Mazatrol. There is an older SQT that we are looking at and it has a T32 control. Can someone with experience with both tell me what are the major differences in these 2 controls? does Mazatrol program the same on both? thanks |

| ... well, Fusion is a PC control, the 32 is not. You can load a T32 program into the Fusion but you can't load a Fusion program into the 32. It's not very backward compatible. If you use G code programming, then it won't make much difference. But for Mazatrol, the language usage is a bit different (not for the user but the base code the machine sees). And to be honest, if you're coming from Fusion and then go retro to a T32.... It will probably flat out piss you off for a long while. The 32 boards are very combersome compared to the Fusion, memory is low, key strokes are different (some steps take more strokes), the look and feel is different (since most of them are monochrome screens), the TPC is not as powerful, and G code editing sucks compared to Fusion. I might consider going down one level to a Plus control from Fusion, but not to a 32 or lower. If none of the above bother's you, then the T32 control is a great control and very stable. To program Mazatrol is pretty much the same.. with exception to some of the advancements that the Fusion has...
