Problem- Mazak T32-3 RS-232 communications

I am attempting to hook up RS-232 on an Integrex 40...with a T32-3 control. I have made up the cable..set " I " parameters. before I even plug the cable in and try to send or recieve a program, I get either a 515 error cmt misconnection or a 544 tape reader misconnection error, and then the same thing when I plug the cable in. Anyone have any recommendations to fix this problem Thanks in advance

What serial wire configuration are you using?

I get the error even when the cable is not plugged in...

How about wires 6 8 and 20? Are you shorting them together on both sides?

yes, on the mazak side, jumpered 6-8 and then to 20 on pc side...

i have the same problembut i´m using the following cable:

pc 9 pin CNC 25 pin
2--------------2
3--------------3
7--------------5
8--------------4
5--------------7
jump 6, 8, 20 on CNC side only

I want to drip feed a long problem. Can someone help me?
