We're getting a new integrex at the end of the year. I'm fairly new to machining and want to take a class or two about programming at a local college. They have a mastercam class. will taking a mastercam class be any help as to learning how to set up, program an integrex. If not, besides going to Mazak for their class, are there any other classes or books or anything that will help me learn? |

| Fairly new to machining and Integrex should not be mixed. You should attend a basic Maztrol turning center class and also the Mazak H.O.T. Integrex training. If you plan to use MasterCam for programming you still need to know the Mazatrol side of the machine. The Integrex is not very forgiving to a novice operator/programmer. I have attached a sample program from my Int-100 for you to look at. Hope it helps,Good luck |

| ok. so if I understand you right, taking a class like master cam will not help me understand mazatrol at all? BTW....I think I'm a little familiar with mazatrol. We have a Mazak quick turn 20 that I run sometimes. Looking at that program actually makes a little sense to me but only some of it. We use ours to turn a rough od then a finish od with a roughing tool and a finishing tool. Also use another tool for cutting off ends and another tool to do threads. But, all the programs that we use are already programed. The only thing I have to do is load it, offset it a few thousandths and make my edits. And all this is on a quick turn. When they trained me, the guy didn't explain anything. He just showed me what to check and what to edit. Didn't hardly explain anything to me when I asked what this or that was. Just got the answer you don't need to worry about that. I though I would be able to use mastercam to make a 3d drawing of my part and load it into the mazak integrex. From what you told me I guess I won't be able to do that. |

| That is true that we're supposed to get free classes with the new machine, but the problem there is that the boss man only plans on sending a few people. I'm not at the top of the list of seniority and am probably right in the middle or below half and he said that I probably won't go. That's why I'm trying to figure out other ways that will help me learn more about this machine. |
