Mazatrol T1 on Quickturn 20 - Lost parameters!

Hi All,
Ok you have to bear wth me because I am new to CNC machines.
We have a QT20 with a T1 control system. It has been switched off for a year or so and the battery has gone flat and it seems all parameters have been lost.

When we first switched it on we had 2 battery errors (cant remember exactly) "F Emergency Stop" "Overtravel +Z" "Overtravel -Z" "Overtravel X"

I figured out to push the OT release button. This let me move the X axis and the fault has gone. With this pushed I was also able to jog the chuck and rotate the tool holders. At no time did Z axis move.

Now the OT release has no effect and we are stuck with E-stop and both Z overtravel errors. Nothing will move.

It seems that we have to enter all parameters by hand? but I can't find this in any of the manuals we have. (we have programmng, user, & maintenance)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Mark

Buy me a Beer?

Do you have the parameter listing for your machine? If you get any asterisks anywhere, it is best to clear memory, I can see if I can put it in PDF format.
But if you have them, just go to the 4 parameter pages and enter the parameters you have, the OP, option parameters have to be entered with the parity bit in the least significant position , IOW if the OP parameter is 01010001 you need to enter a 3 at the end, i.e. 010100013.
Hopefully you have the chuck barrier etc No's.
Don't forget the new battery
Al.

Yes I have lots of asterisks and many parameters show 65280.

I have not found the parameter list but I will have a good look through all the paperwork on Saturday. Will this list include the Chuck Barrier etc. or is this different?

How do I reset the memory?

many thanks

If you find the parameter list, it should also have the tool offsets and chuck barrier etc.
Look in the enclosure pockets.
I will see if I can round up a typical T1 parameters, and the procedure, I also have the parameter definitions, except the options.

Mark, If you give me an email address I can send you the procedure to re-initialize your control along with memory clear.

OK I am making progress.

I have found the original parameters for our machine. (hidden away at the back of the tooling cupboard)

Bob sent me instructions for initialising T2/T3. Does anyone know for sure if this will work for T1?

Does anyone have specific instruction for T1?

thanks,

Mark

Thanks Al, a great help.

However - I still have no luck getting the machine running!
There is still F-Emergency stop and Z Overtravel & -Z Overtravel alarms.

The O/T button has no effect in allowing the machine to function.

Nothing at all works. Not even the light on/off.

Any ideas?

We do not have any tool or barrier data so I have entered the values from the screenshot in the user manual. Is this critical at this stage?

Are there any alarm number associated with them?
