    Hyd system QT8

    Guys,

After a little more troubleshooting, I have discovered that the #2 turret position is loosing pressure.

When the turret changes position there is a quick drop then rise on the pressure gauge of about 100PSI then it stabilizes around 500PSI. However, when the turret moves to the #2 position, pressure drops to 200PSI and doesn’t recover until it changes tool positions.

This has turned out to be a perplexing problem because it’s not an everyday occurrence as the problem seams to come and go like something is floating around then plugging a line some where.

Changed #2 to #1 and now it's doing the same on #5. I think the reason #5 didn't show up earlier is due to #5 was being used after #2. If I manually rotate the turret all positions have a crisp drop/rise and pressure returns quickly to 500PSI.

I have recently changed the Hyd fluid, cleaned the filter and cleaned out the gunk out of the bottom of the tank. How likely is it that a position switch would not be mating on some turret positions but mates on others? It acts like once the turret rotates to the new position it's bypassing fluid back to the tank and the pump can't keep up with demand.

remove the turret , its easier than you think
unbolt the screws from the front of turret make sure machine is off,
remove the main shaft and you will see its rusty and full of crap.
clean it up put it back in same tool position and it will work again ,been there done that and machine is working fine.
    hope this works
