PROBE HELP!

Hey guys. I am working on a Mazak VTC 200-B with a renishaw probe. I program the machine in EIA format and know no mazatrol at all. I was wondering if you could recomend a simple way for me to use the probe for setting my work offsets by picking up edges and measuring bores and such. I have figured out the manual measure option but would like to learn the right way. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

If its a factory installed Probe setup, then you should also have received the probe programming manuals. You did get the Inspection Plus software (Option depending on the machine age) right? So the probe macros should already be loaded in the machine. Look in this book. It shows in pretty good detail how to drive a probe in G code and set up the G65 routines and variables.

Mazatrol probing is actually quite simple but I do prefer do drive them by G code...

G65 P9810 X Y to safely move the probe into locations. (if probe hits it will not crash but stop instead).
G65 P9814 (internal bore or external OD depending on z axis in call or not)
G65 P9811 (one touch axis find x, y ,or z..)
