Mazatrol M32B RS232 from serial to printer port now

HAVE TO SWITCH MY MAZAK RS232 CONNECTION FROM THE 9 PIN ON PC
TO THE 25 PIN ON THE PC.
Things not working now.
Have the mazatrol M32B control.
Also have the Mazak Data transfer program.
Everything was working.
What do I need to change on the PC and or in the Mazak.
do I have to change my wiring on the cable to cross over.
Used to come from Mazak 25 pin to PC 9 pin.
now I plugged a 9-25 adapter and plugged to the PC
printer port.
Is it comm 2 now insted of comm 1 ?

I had the same problem. I dont think the 9to25 pin adaptors are wired right. You will have to redo the pc end of your cable. My problem was I had a 25 to 25 pin cable trying to use the adaptor down to 9 pin to a laptop. Interestingly though if I ran through an a/b switch box that had a 9 pin input and 25 pin output and it would work.

If you're switching to the "printer port" on the PC... DON'T DO IT! The printer port is parallel, not serial, and will NOT communicate with the CNC.
