Error 55 motor overload (T1)

What could be the possible symptoms of this error? This machine has sat for 2 years and we just wired it up. I wonder if I installed the #2 plug on the servo drive correctly

Where is that located? Is that in the servo box?

in another box, QT20 usually on left side, QT10 On right side.
if the mccb already switch on, it's mean your spindle drive is failure.
i never repair the drive, (FRSX/FRSB)but i change with the INVERTER, and it working normally.
BTW, this alarm comes from spindle drive.

Interesting! Yes the spindle would seem to loose its speed calibration. We thought it was a hall effects sensor out and never powered it up after that and it went to storage. I wonder if that part of the drive finally gave up the ghost and died.

I think your spindle is FR-SB, BU BV is FAN source that connected to the Motor FAN, it will run when the motor rotate.
Only one way to find out your system working or not.
Please try connect FA and FC by wire, this is fault sensor, Close when no alarm on spindle drive.
my suggestion is replace spindle drive with new Inverter.
It will be reduce maintenance, power, cost.
FR-SB is old drive, hard to repair.
my machine working normally by Toshiba Inverter.

greeting
Tarom

What type of spindle drive do you have (FR-SB, FR-SD, FR-SX)? What led's are lit up on it? You should be able to tell by the led's if it is in alarm state.

All of the led's you listed are normal. The leds at the top of the control say that all of the voltages on the power supply are ok and the other two are for Zero Speed and Speed Detection. The connector does appear to be in the wrong place though. I think it should be on the right connector. I am going off of the label on the connector that says CON2. If you look closely on the board one of the connectors should be labeled on the board with CON2. There are some LED's on the second board on the left hand side. Those are the alarm LED's. If they are not lit up then the spindle drive does not appear to be your problem.
Have you tried calling Mazak to see if they can give you a direction? Maybe your coolant or hydraulic pumps are wired in wrong or shorted.
