Its probably the toolholders....some toolholders have thru coolant provisions, like those for U-Drills, while most others have the external ports. I've got the same problem.
What is the standard method of setting up thru the tool coolant in the pockets of a QT250? We bought some Kennametal boring bars with this feature and when I was looking at the pockets I didn't see a way to direct the coolant into the pocket with out rigging up some fittings and lines. That seems kind of cheesy to me so I figure I'm missing something obvious.
Thanks

OK, thanks. I'll check with Mazak for avilability of thru coolant pockets.

...Much as I love giving Mazak lots of money, there are other suppliers of toolholders out there. Check 'em out before buying them a new Bentley.
Good point! 1.44MB floppy drive, Mazak's price: $363.80 plus shipping. Newegg's price 10.98 with shipping.
Are there any brands you'd recommend? I've noticed the pockets on the turret are marked as is the turret by number. I assumed that they are matched at the factory. What about aftermarket brands. Is it necessary to somehow adjust them or should they be true to the centerline of the machine providing the turret is undamaged and aligned? when installed? I'm very new to this profession and appreciate your opinion.
Thanks
