    T-2 tailstock woes

    Hi all,
Got a strange situation with my MAZAK QT-15's tail stock.
The machine will only run with the quill fully extended.
Anything else will result in various alarms, with 932 being the most common.
I've tried all kinds of combinations of the tail stock forward and retracted, but the machine will not run without pressure on the extended tail stock quill.
All the tail stock limit sensors will light up when metal passes over them.
I am at a loss what to check next.
Can the tail stock facility be turned off electronically to by pass it's faults ???
This machine has a T-2 control.
    Thanks for any help!

    alarming mistake

I realized after I posted this that the alarm message is 293, NOT 932 as previously mentioned.
    Thanks !
