    Mazatrol T1 boring bar calibration?

    Hi all,

We have recently acquired a Mazak QT10 with a Mazatrol T1 control. Our question is: how do we calibrate a boring bar? There are no examples in our manuals. We've tried making an inside cut, hitting TEACH, stopped the spindle, measured the id, entered that value and hit INPUT (Same as for OD cut.) We're using the BAR IN cycle. Our minimum id is set at the drill id (1.1875), and CPT-X = same. The problem is when we run the part, the boring bar is cutting at least .25 away from the drilled hole surface on the finish pass. Looks like some kind of offset or parameter value is plugged in somewhere, but we can't find it. We do not have a complete list of parameter codes in our manuals; maybe about half of them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Bore a hole with the bar using the hand wheels. Measure the bore. Write it down. Touch the I.D. in the measured bore with the bar using the hand wheel. Go to Tool Set page (cursor to Tool Set X for the current tool) Without moving the bar push TEACH and enter the measured diameter and push INPUT. Your tool is set on X.
