We have a couple of Mazak machines (640M controllers) that are in a different building than our program storage computer using Griffo Bros software for data transfer. To get them connected to the Griffo software we used a network to RS-232 converter and created a virtual comm port. When we try to send or receive programs we get the CMT mis-connect error (the virtual comm port has the correct settings for the machine & software). The machines were just moved to this different building and they connected just fine before they were moved (using RS-232 connection only). All the machines that are in the same building as the data transfer computer connect fine. Is there anything different we need to do to use a virtual comm port?
