    Question Meldas L3 - Mitsubishi

    Hi everyone!

We have a KNUTH CNC lathe with a mitsubisi meldas l3 controller in it.
The last time when we turned on the machine the monitor was totaly dark.
The controller and the monitor are under power, but nothing happens on the monitor.
The machine worked fine but we used it just in February (10 months ago).

I searched on the internet and the Maintenance Manual of the meldas l3 controller and we think the battery lost it's power and this cause the problem.
    (The manual: http://meau.com/Files/BNP-B3662.PDF)

It happend once in the past when we bought the machine about 5-6 years ago and then a guy made it to work.
    But I can't find him

It's my father's machine and he asked me to find a solution. But after a few days of searching everywhere I have no more idea.

If someone have any information about this please help me out. It's very important.
    I'll be very obligated.

    Here is some plus information:

    TYPE FCAM3
    serial C3198690153

    Cards in it:
    MC 713/727
    MC 161-1
    MC 303

    Mem card:
    MC841

    Thank you.

Good to hear. You can also replace the battery with any NiCad 3.6V unit, not necessary to get the one from Mitsubishi. I've used battery packs for cordless phones. The replacement battery must be NiCad because the Mitsubishi charging circuits cannot handle a NiMh or lithium battery.
