A small taper .014 or less in 2.8 inches still threads straight. I have X start at .435 and X final point of .440 (to help counter flex in part) z of 2.8. I have tried a steeper taper like .04 per side and It will do that, but the smaller tapers it will not. The numbers in the Position screen stay at same X value, the entire length in Z. It is a T Plus control on a QT 15N lathe. Anyone else know why this might be? It will cut a .005 (intentionally programmed) taper on a Bar Out OD turn, Just not with Thread Out. |
