Need Help!- Mazak tool length measuring unit door

Trying to measure a few tools I just changed and the tool length measurement door will not open.

Is it firing the open solenoid and trying to open? If so, it sounds like the linkage has is bound up. Turn off the air to the machine and try to manually pull the door open. With no air on it, it should pop right up. Check out the operation by hand and repair what ever is causing it to bind up and hold the door down. Usually it's pretty skanky inside from coagulated coolant and chips fermenting. Things can grow in ours!
If it is not firing the solenoid in MDI, the the wiring to said solenoid or solenoid itself are suspect. Check for voltage at the solenoid by removing the wiring cap. Should be two leads and a ground. Caution! 100VAC operating voltage. You may want to power off while you disassemble the wiring cap. If the voltage is present and the valve doesn't operate, replace it. I have disassembled them and cleaned and oiled em up and got them running for a while longer. That's contingient on wether or not the coil is still good or not. A simple continuity check will test this. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Im starting to ramble! Good luck.
