I have. 2 Mazaks with mazatrol control and they are the easiests control to use in a Cnc lathe machine. You will like it. How much did you buy yours for? Their is one for sale with a T2 control for 10k.
I just purchased a mazak m4 cnc lathe, Most of my programming knowledge has come from my Bridgeport cnc mill retrofitted with a centroid control. The lathe is supposed to be here by end of week and I really need to hit the ground running with this thing. It has the t32-2 control and is a 1990 model. Should I invest in some desktop design software or will I be able to stand up at the machine and write programs? I can draw about anything in autocad, and had some solid works, master-cam, pro engineer classes in college. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also are there any trouble spots with the mazak line that I should be looking for?

I wish. This baby cost me near 40k sight unseen with 6000 cutting hours. The pictures taken made it look a little better than it does in person. Anyway after a few weeks of playing with it im figuring things out. She has some quirks and a few things were missing, like the entire air system that the seller claimed i didnt need. After reading i found the ballscrews were lubricated by an air oil mix. Anyway its a very stout machine and I think its gonna work out ok.
Good machine, I got one, hydraulic tailstock and rigid. I retrofitted the control, it was fanuc 2000. Use oil for lubricating ballscrew.
