    ZF Gearbox Solenoid

    Pardon me I'm new here.

We are having shifting issues with our VTC200/50. It will not shift gears. We had a technician out and recommended we replace one of the 24 volt power supplies..... replaced power supply....still having problems. We now suspect the ZF gearbox solenoid is the problem and the dealer wants $2800 for a replacement. We are going to do some bench testing to confirm our suspicions.

Has anyone experienced this problem and is there anywhere else to go for parts.

I'll update you on our progress.

Are you getting 24v at the solenoid when you try to change gear?

    Yup

Do that, check your 24Vdc to see if it actually ever gets to your solenoid. Sometimes it's just because of a loose connection somewhere, and dunno if your gear is pneumatic or hydraulic but it might be a reason for your gears not to work as well. Cheers.
