Problem- Mazak CMT T32

Hi there. Been running a T1 controlled M4 for last 4 years (shoestring startup) and have been using MDT for file transfer (toughbook_win98) with no issues. I recently purchased a T32 controlled QT28 which I am enjoying, however there seems to be an issue with cmt not working. Looking at the parameter lists, it seems there is only one parameter associated with cmt, the baud setting.

I phoned the previous user of the machine today and they reckon it works fine with the cmt floppy disk type drive (yuk!) but they couldnt get it working with camware, which is similar to MDT.

with it becoming increasingly harder to get the cmt floppy drive unit, can anyone offer any advice, checks to be made etc in order to troubleshoot and resolve?

I`m using the onecnc dnc software with a HAAS mill, I spose this could be used instead?

Chortle, I have the older magnetic tape drive that came with the M4, no idea how to work it, wionder if its worth anything, ne1 got a museum?

I1 sets the baud rate, but you also have to take a look at parameter I65 which sets the correct port for CMT. Its a 7 bit parameter and you set it by the following:

Bit 0 - CNS31 - MC712
Bit 1 - CNS32 - MC712
Bit 2 - CNS11 - MC116
Bit 3 - CNS12 - MC116

If I remember correctly you could only have one of these on at a time, and I think normally you plug into the CNS31 on the MC712.

tried these. currently set at 00000001

tried 00000010, etc no joy.

Tried plugging serial straight into pcb to rule out possible port wear. Heh, keypad stopped responding. Put it all back together pretty quick, I can tell you
