Mazatrol Help - Tool ID CODE - I don't get it

Help - I'm not really getting it -

On a new to me Fusion 640MT for Integrex,

Is the Tool ID Code (A-Z) the same as the cutting direction on SP1 or SP2?
If I choose A for all the tools cutting in the same direction on the same spindle, that ID (A) becomes that direction & orientation???

SO there's no actual defined orentiation for any given letter? You just choose them as you setup?

    OR

Am I missing some chart that tells me to use (A) for tools in X direction?

These manuals are really bad - Why do I need to look in 2 or more? manuals to learn tool setting? (rant)
