I have been getting many servo alarms the last 2 days.Yesterday the machine was getting a S01 servo alarm:PR 0033 S2 Today it was getting the same but the code # was 0042 The secondary spindle seems to be the culprit,as it is getting very hot.The motor turns easily and i dont see anything impeding it.Anyone have any guesses as to why it is heating up so bad-does it have an internal fan? |

| The 33 is an overvoltage in the Spindle drive unit. Alarm 42 is a feedback error. These two alarms are usually unrelated. There usually is a fan on the spindle motor's. Maybe check to see that the fan isn't gummed up with coolant or damaged and not spinning. |

| Hi, If you remove the Spindle Motor fan for cleaning, please also check the condition of PLG - Gear, Sensor & the Amp PCB for the PLG. Any oil dust deposit near it, can also create problem. Depending the on the Spindle motor, the gap between the PLG Gear & Sensor can also be checked. Best Regards, Girish |

| Hi, If you go to Alarm History page of the Spindle Drive, you can see any other alarm has occurred, just before alarm 33. This you can judge with the Work Time, in the column adjacent to alarm list. If there is alarm 42, just before 33, then PLG setting may be disturbed again. When the PLG was replaced, 1) Was the gap between gear/magnet & the sensor was checked through out the complete rotation of gear/magnet? 2) Was there a outside mechanical damage on old PLG or it was internal failure? Best Regards, Girish |
