Hello all
I'm having a problem with a meldas 50L controller on an extron lathe. We lost our parameters when the backup battery went dead. I have the parameters written down in a book and have loaded the one's that i could, but i can not find the options page to load those parameters. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Hello again
We have been able to load all of the parameters back into the controller manually(typed in each one). We initialized and formatted, our inputs and outputs can be forced on and off but it looks like we have lost our main program. We can't find any ladder logic when we look. My question is, when we lost our backup battery would we have also lost our program? If so can we reload the program if we can find a similair machine and copy theirs?
You can reload the ladder either by hand or RS232 if you can find a copy.
There is a primitive Mitsubishi DOS program that will do it

Hi,
Machine Builders normally backup the ladder in the ROM. If it is backed up, you can find the file in F0 --> ROM Write menu. It will be easy to load from this menu.
If not available in this menu, entering by hand will take a long time.

Hello
Girish the fo page is the only page that is blank at the moment. All of the other pages appear to be working. There is a page that shows the servos the spindle and the plc with letters and numbers that follow each item, like a serial number, except the plc. there is no serial number after the plc line, so does that mean we have lost the program?
Hi,
The Ladder display bit seems to be 0.
Please go to
1) Menu, PAR --> PLC --> BIT SELECT,
2) Set Par #6451 bit 0 = 1,
i.e. #6451 = xxxxxxx1, where x is old bit value.
It should be possible to view the F0 page.

Thanks guys.
Hi,
You have a no of steps to do as below,
1) Replace with new batteries.
2) NC Memory Clear with the CS1 / CS2 rotary switch.
3) Change Language par. 1043 = 1 to English or for any other language par.
4) Enter Option parameters.
5) Enter / Upload Machine, User Parameters.
6) Format Program & Tool Memory by Par. 1060.
7) Upload Part programs, check for fixed cycles & upload them, if not available.
8) Read PLC from ROM --> RAM(battery backed) with F0, ROM WRITE Menu. (Be carefull to use READ command, because WRITE command will overwrite junk file in ROM back up memory.)
It will take long time to prepare the procedure for each of above steps. If somebody has ready procedure, please post it.

Hello
I hope you can help me again. We have the machine program loaded and working except for the spindle. When you start a part program the spindle rpm only runs at the minimium and the rpm and feedrate override switches are not functioning.
Hi,
Sorry for the delay in reply.
Do you have any idea, if the spindle is analog (with some inverter) or a Mitsubishi Spindle drive (MDS A/B ... SPJ OR SPJ2 OR SP)?
If it a mitsubishi drive, check par. 3001~3008, 3024.
If it is analog, need to check the PLC signals.

Hello Girish
We were able to fix the machine today. We had to modify the ladder logic.
