    Helical Interpolation

I have a 94 Mazak VTC 41 that I program for. I am curious if this machine will handle Helical Interp, ie. for thread milling. If not can I use G18/G19 in combination with G02/G03 with some sort of Z value to accomplish a thread.

    Thanks for the help guys.

the VTC I program is older than that and it handles it fine
I was just experimenting with some thread milling today,

    G91
    G3 X0 Y0 I-.5 J0 Z.1

This will mill a full circle, with radius .5", and a helical rise of .1"
You can write an EIA program, or call an EIA sub from within Mazatrol, or you can insert the code into a manual unit within Mazatrol
