I have a bit of a dilemma regarding updating the WPC in Mazatrol using a Renishaw measure macro sub program. I have a Mazak Integrex E650 machine running with the Matrix control, and I thought it would be rather simple to update the WPC using the MMS unit in Mazatrol, how wrong was I. Because we calibrated the probe horizontally it throws an error when trying to use it vertically.Due to limited parameter settings! L1-L4. We cannot calibrate it vertically as we use it more horizontally. Now I completely prefer the Renishaw cycles, but it will not let me update the Mazatrol WPC. I have tried a normal sub program call which reverts back to the original WPC when it returns back to mazatrol. I have tried a measure macro sub call, which then just hangs their when it returns to Mazatrol. Mazak say they have found the same problem. I am hoping one of you geniuses out their can give me some advice. Any help would be most appreciated. |

| Hi Bootdisc We found the same problem on our 650 (mpro). We now never use Mazatrol WPC,we always use G55 ect. When we got our new E500 (matrix), we did play around with up-dating the mazatrol WPC but again it was very temperamental. We only ever use Renishaw cycles. You should callibrate the probe horizontally and vertically. The probe will update different variables for horizontal and vertical. Chek the renishaw setting program- I THINK it is p9723 or P9724 that set what range of varibles to use ie #500 for horizontal and #600 for vertical |

| Thanks for your reply. You can only calibrate the probe either vertical or horizontal in Mazatrol, and it trys to move the errors from L1 and L2 parameters around the B axis. But fails miserably. Unfortunately, in 'turn mill' mazatrol programming, we have to use the automatic turn centre in X and Y. If it would allow us to use G54 ect. that would be a treat. Is there a way we can do that do you know? In 'milling only' programming format, it allows us to use what ever WPC we want, which is great as we can use the Renishaw probe for everything. But yet again, Mazak defeats us for turning. |

| Hi Unfortunatly even setting up the machine to use ISO work ofsets (G54,G55 ect) you still have to have the X&Y set to C/L to run Mazatrol turning units ane the high-lighted maztrol drilling and milling unit that work around the C axis revolving (ie centre-line). We have to force ours to the correct values if we need to turn on run these cycles ect. As for mazatrol probing , we never have used these cycles so can not really comment on them or how to get around your problem of only having the probe calibrated in 1 plane. |
