Hopefully someone can help. We need to replace the spindle bearings on an early 90's vtc 41. We have the spindle cartridge out, pulled the bottom flange off and by the looks of the pictures we have at the top of the spindle there is a threaded collar that needs to be removed to push the bearing shaft out through the bottom. We think it is threaded on but we are not having any luck loosening it. Does anyone have any ideas on this or maybe its not even threaded on. Any help would be appreciated. |

| Most mazak spindles i have dismantled are pretty straightforward. the collar that is on the back will unscrew. however the draw tube sticking out the back must be comrpessed in a press to relieve the tension on the cap. be careful letting off on the press, the belleville springs can do some serious damage. make sure you note the position and direction of all springs for reinstallation. |
