T32-3 Mazatrol tool path check

When you program a part in Mazatrol, you should be able to check the tool path (feed and rapid moves displayed using solid or doted lines) from inside the program edit section but on our T32-3 controller, we get an alarm "515 Tools not set". The tools are set as we run the programs to make the parts fine. Is it a parameter that may be set wrong or is there something else we may be missing? We can do a shape check no problem, just can't check the tool path!

Any help/advice would be much appreciated????

Jake

need cut-dir, nose-r, cut-angle, edg-ang and tool width at a minimum.

it sounds like you have only given the tool a name and set X and Z.

without the above info mazatrol is clueless as to the geometry of the tool and won't run tool path check.

PS - tool path check plots the coordinates of the tnr center point - not the part shape! TRACE will show the coordinates of the SET POINT instead of tnr center. This is the way it ever was, to this very day with the latest and greatest MATRIX controls!

Excellent point Jim, always wondered why they displayed differently.
