Integrex 300SY 2nd spindle wont start

Kinda felling a little humbled today, We got a integrex 300SY with a PC-Fusion-CNC 640MT control that I am trying to teach myself how to run I have got a problem getting the head 2 / sub spindle to run I can run it in manual and have got both spindles to run in MDI at the same time but the odd thing is that they were going different directions. the other problem is I have not been able to get the SUB spindle to run by its self I have tryed M300 G97S500 M3 and M300 G97 S500 M303.

Can someone tell me what I am doin wrong?

2nd spindle

i think, but not sure because i ran an integrex 400 st with matrix control, but isn't m300 2nd spindle milling mode, i think you have to tell machine that you are working on the 2nd spindle first - m902, but again matrix control. additionally, not really a gcode guy, only mazatrol, but something to try.

hope it helps, also check out this website for much info on integrex.

some generalizations.

MT preceded MT-PRO and Matrix.

Mazak did a MAJOR overhaul of lots of M codes and maybe a few G codes when they went to Matrix. Code that is perfect on the matrix will not work on previous Integrexes in many areas.

To G code synched spindle requires a lot of fore knowledge and if you juxtapose any of the codes that may make the entire thing crash and burn. (actually, it will alarm out with programming errors) (and running EIA in tool path check will also reveal program errors instead of actually running the machine. there may be an occasional situation where the tool path check is good, but it craps out in cycle. this is rare, but a possibility)

sample or template G code format for your MT would be great. I'll look and see if I can dig any up. integrexmachinist.com may have some good templates in their "library", too.

If you like academic experiments, you could write a synch and transfer in mazatrol, then single block and record the changes to the modal display, and that could help you reverse engineer to G code?

I think you can synch the spindles via softkeys? But you have to hit the menu (or even display) buttons a few times to get to the softkey. and it appears only in manual mode (or only in automatic?)

Self taught Integrex G code is no way to go through life, son!

one real hard learned lesson is if you abort the cycle after transfer, it's hard to move head 2. thats by design, as Mazak wants you to UNCHUCK Head 2 so you don't pull the bar while it's clamped by both spindles.
