Best way to learn Mazatrol?

I work at a machine shop, and I spend most of the time just loading parts. I would like to learn Mazatrol so I can write my own porgrams. I have the programing guide for a SQT 10M T plus, but I would like something a little more hands on than a book. Is there a online class or program or something that is good, or is reading the book the best way?

Everyone is have their own way/pattern to absording what they learn. For me, I read the book first as reference then write a trial program(simple one first). I got the luxury of machine simulation ..... it's help.

Anyway, on the Mazak you can do the same thing. You can learn/make program in the time between the part cycle, it's will not effect the program/part you are runng.

PS: Whatever you do OK, don't forget to make a good part it's a most important, concentration on learning programming and if your mind slip....... you will crash.

Most of the parts I run have a very low cutting time so I don't have much time to mess around with anything while its running, and if I do get a little time, I need to check tolerances to make sure I am making a good part like you said!

What do you use for machine simulation?

If that's the case, then learn program on your own time like break, lunch ...... Make a new program from scratch, don't play mess around with the one already in the memory, that way you won't mess up the working program. As far as simulation, some older machine will require machine stop running for it to work.

My machine simulation? Cimco for G-code, Heidain. Native Mazatrol at best is at the machine itself 'cause it's special language.
