1999 Mazak FJV-250 with Fusion 640M Control - CNCzone.com-The Largest Machinist Community on the net!

Our shop is looking to purchase a used 1999 FJV-250. I'm just looking to get some feedback on this machine good or bad. I has a 4th axis already installed. Im also wondering if the control is capable of controlling 5 axis or if 4 is the limit.

I love the FJVs ... tough machine, fast and accurate with the double column. Haven't used one with a 4th but you'll want to look into making sure you have the work space you need for the work you're doing. The 250 is necessarily a "big" vmc after you put a 4th on it. The Fusion is a good control with lots of possible options so do look into those.

As for a 5th... never seen one done so I can't answer that one...

I'm pretty sure the most it will run is 4 axis simultaneous but I believe you can run more then 4, just not simultaneously.
