Mazak Vic 20/40b z axis servo lag error 3

Hi

our Mazak has started giving a servo lag error 3 randomly. Normally when rapid moving but also sometimes on zero return. It can work perfectly for sometime and then out of the blue up comes this error and of course you need to restart the machine.

any help greatly appreciated

Might pay to take the brushes out of the motor and blow any excess carbon out before digging any deeper. Not saying it will fix it but definitely won't hurt it.
