Default Mazak m2 vqc20-40/50 setting up tool files

    Hi
can anyone please provide me with some step by step help in setting up the tool files so we can use the changer. The machine was dead and we now have it up and running without any errors and can zero return it but there is a tool in the spindle and we don't know how to tell it to take it out and it also says that it has a pallet 255 when we don't have a pallet module.

    the tool files are empty

    please help

    regards

    mike

The pallet issue would be a parameter setting as would be the drum no if that is abnormal. You should be able to take the tool out manually with the foot pedals. Just put it in manual mode and press F1 (I think. It's been a while) while pressing the pedal. Make sure you hang on to the tool. Or you can set up a tool in the tool file (just guess the length for now and allocate it to a pocket. Once done go to your home screen and see what tool no is listed there and change it to the pocket no you have allocated. Then just do a tool change zero and it should put that tool into the right pocket. I will see if I have a programming manual in pdf but I don't think so.

    Thanks bob

Will try that next week had problems with the photo electric eyes in the tool mag and have retro fitted two units and now it's loading and unloading under the midi side.

Have got the pallet and drum setting under control.

Am still getting a tool file error 434 maybe, saying tool not defined but will check this next week.

    Any manual would be great.

    Regards mike

    Thanks bob

F1 and the pedal worked perfectly.

Fixed the other parameters and that sorted the drun and pallet.

Would be good to know the relationship between the tool file , the tool data and layout file. Which file looks where and at which info

Tool data will do all the cutters. Won't load any drills etc. Tool file is the tools that you have loaded in the magazine. Layout is the tools used in a particular program
