| Hi all, I'm new to posting here, and have a problem I hope someone may be able to help with. Have been trying to machine a molding machine barel screw (similar) in nylon, without a 4th axis. Using a dividing head, and swinging the piece first at 120 deg. 2 times. I am using Mastercam 9.1 and using surface scalop with a 3/4 and 1/2 ball mill. I cant get a good union of the machined surfaces, in fact I get a step of about 2mm between the cut faces. I also tried swinging from 90 degrees down to 45 degrees but with the same results, any of you guys out there got any suggestions?? Should have mentioned am machining in a Viwa VMC 1050A Thanks to all for such a good web site Dave D. |
