Hi. Is there a way of saving a set of operations that I can import each time I load a new mastercam file? We machine a lot of electrodes on 30 by 30 copper and I seem to use the same sequence each time. Is there a way of saving a set of toolpaths so I can call them up but just pick new drive surfcaces or chain geometry etc? Many thanks. John PS. I am using X4 |

| Yes, this can be done and it's pretty simple... Select the desired operations and right-click in the operations manager then select export. In the new file just use import and retrieve those ops from your *.operations file. You can also browse to an existing .mcx file (while using import) and import the operations from your other .mcx files instead of from the operations file... Another option would be to create a blank .mcx file with the desired toolpaths and save it as something like "my electrode template.mcx". When starting a new electrode oopen the template file then "save-as" whatever name / location is desired and finally merge the new electrode geometry and select your drive surfaces... Personally I prefer the template method but as with everything in Mastercam there are lots of ways to accomplish most tasks. |
