Question yes im just a nother noob on mastercam

ok im a student and my school just got a brand new cnc mill with mastercam x4 and the old mastercam 9 but the lessons that came with it are only for 9 and i would like to learn the x4. i just got a very complex rhino file seen here http://www.cartertools.com/3Dpath.html and i would like to know how tho tool path it and all that.

is this for a vertical mill or a horizontal mill, the reason bieng the setup is slighly diffrent

here it is, you will need the mu2 update for mastercam to open this file
goto to the mcam website to find it

these toolpaths are definetly not optimal for this part by far but you should get the jist of how to surface machine, starting with larger tools and working ur way down

u dont have to use ball mills to do you first roughing i prefer to use a radiused end mill maybe a .015-.025 corner rad depending on the application could be as high as .06 cr again its all in how things work and what makes good quality parts

yeah i still cant get it to work

keeps getting err "file upload failed"

file is far less tha 8.5 gb limit, only about 4. mb
