Right, I've drawn my part in SolidWorks, got it into MasterCam, got a path generated and got the cutter to do what I want it to, just the X and Y axes are switched from where I want them to be. What's the easiest way to correct this? I'm playing around with the work coordinate systems but doesn't seem to be changing much. I've tried rotating the WCS 90deg around the Z axis, deleting the tool path then creating it again so it calls up the new datum but no change. Can anyone help me please? |

| The really easy way ( if you've only just started the job ) is to turn on all levels, and rotate everything 90°. All your toolpaths will "dirty" and need regenerating We'd need to know what version of Mcam you are using to give correct directions in using the WCS, T/C planes ( V8 & 9 is different to the X family ) |

| The WCS can used to how you may wish to machine that part without actually moving any geometry You have to create another view as to how the machine "sees" the part G-view is a graphics view only but it can be used to create a new WCS G-view ( on bottom toolbar ) and "rotate view" rotate around Z-axis 90°, and accept then name this view to something like "WCS OP.1" You can also give the part a new origin (like making the upper face Z0), offset number, etc. To use it, you first have to make it active ( thru the WCS manager ), and "TOP" is now this WCS's top face In an operation, your planes settings are WCS=WCS OP.1, T & C planes = WCS OP.1 This is a normal set-up for a 3-axis machine when doing multiple set-ups or placing the origin in a different location |
