Anyone using it? Pro & cons? I'm a solidcam user and like it. Reason I'm asking is because I tried MC a couple of years ago and it took me ages to get going. I'm very comfortable in Solidworks, and Solidcam was very easy by comparison. I could program and machine a part pretty much before I'd even managed to set the tool/construction planes in MC!!! However, I do remember that MC gave many choices of how and what to cut for various operations and sometimes I'm not 100% happy with the Solidcam toolpaths. Can anyone convince me? |

| I have seen the Mastercam for Solidworks at the rollout info session I attended last month.I di not find it all that appealing.Since it is still in its infantcy I think it needs some work to be a winner.Right now the only thing you can do with it is milling toolpaths. So right now I would stick with what works and look into Mastercam for Solidworks Later after they get it more refined. |

| I would recommend getting in touch with your local dealer and getting a full demo of what it can do. A few years back I was using solidworks and looked at Mastercam. At the time I was not impressed. It seemed rather cumbersome, but that was v9. Today with the latest and greatest enhancements I fully embrace Mastercam. I should add though that I am not using it with SW. Judge for yourself if it's the right way to go or not. |
