Open pockets

I have an open pocket and select the open pocket paramters icon, I'm trying to understand the overlap percantage / overlap distance and how it affects the toolpath parameters...

I've checked the help file and it states that it creates an imaginary line ? Is the imaginary line created by the endpoints of the open chain ?

the overlap is how far the tool dia by a % will over lap the open end of the pocket.

Enter different parameters and use backplot to see what they do. Backplot is often your best friend and is also often more helpful than Verify.
