SURFACE ROUGH POCKET

Hi guys,

I'am having some trouble with the rough pocket.
I have a solid block with curves and flats on it to mill and my WCS z-axis is 15 mm under the stock. Max depth is Z-39.
I have "stock to leave on drive" set to 0.3mm left on surfaces. I would expect that mastercam leaves 0.3 on the top flat surface as wel but it doesn't.
Whatever depth cut I use it will always leave to much material.
Even if I start at Z 15.3 with max depth set to 0.3 and use a depth cut of 2.5 which would make exactly 6depth cuts it leaves way to much on the flat. Now I'am not sure if it does that on all the flats. But I just can't figure out how to have 0.3 mm stock left on the whole part ( every flat surface and curved surface etc. )

Can someone help me out?

Thanks

I always run into this with the Rough pocket toolpath. What I do is follow this toolpath with a Finish Contour and then a Finish Shallow leaving the same amount of stock. Works good for me. Or you could use a Surface rough Parallel but may end up with the same results that you are getting with the pocket routine.

Hope this helps.

I found out why this happend. I needed to mark the "auto detect flats" and the "adjust for stock to leave on drive surfaces" in the "cut depth"parameter page.
Also needed to put max. depth to 39.3 as the stock to leave is 0.3.
